Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella
  • 2 vine-ripe tomatoes
  • 1 cup basil leaves
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Olive oil, salt and pepper

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a baking sheet.
  3. Cut the tomatoes into thin layers (about ¼ inch thick).
  4. Dispose the tomato slices evenly on the pizza dough.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella over the tomatoes.
  6. Add the basil leaves.
  7. Drizzle the olive oil.
  8. Minced the garlic and sprinkle over the tomatoes.
  9. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  10. Bake 15 minutes or until the pizza dough is brown and crispy and the cheese is melted.

 

Note

You can add a layer of tomato sauce or pesto sauce to add some more flavor to your pizza.

 

Did You Know?

If you are using a premade refrigerated dough, let it rest for 10-15 minutes before using it. This will avoid the dough to shrink back and it will be easier to work with.
